Do sborníku Almanach Nibiru přispělo svými básnickými a povídkovými texty devět českých autorek a autorů z řad UČS, jmenovitě Ivana Blahutová, Michal Černík, Václav Franc, Pavel J. Hejátko, Věra Klontza-Jaklová, Taťána Králová, Miroslav Orava, Karel Sýs, Marie Veselá; a s nimi jako hosté ještě dva vynikající slovenští literáti - Pavol Janík a Ján Tužinský, rovněž čestní členové UČS. Ilustrace (celkem jedenáct černobílých linorytů) jsou dílem grafika Oldřicha Páleníčka. Autory sborníku spojuje především kritický přístup k současné realitě, znepokojení z nebezpečných jevů a tendencí ve vývoji společnosti, protest proti stavu světa; a také přesvědčení, že krásná literatura se nesmí nikdy vzdávat svého skutečného společenského poslání, svých základních funkcí - estetické, etické a gnozeologické.

Karel Brožek náležel k legendární skupině absolventů nově zřízené Katedry loutkářství DAMU přelomu 50. a 60. let - společně s Jurajem Herzem, Jiřím Srncem, Janem Švankmajerem ad. V roce 1959 stál na jevišti vedle Jiřího Suchého v Člověku z půdy - ve vůbec první inscenaci nového divadla Semafor. Stál o zrodu černého divadla, na vrcholu 60. let působil v Laterně magice, kde mj. spolupracoval s bratry Alfrédem a Emilem Radokovými. V počátku normalizace se uchýlil k loutkovému divadlu, pracoval na všech našich loutkových scénách, zásadním způsobem přispěl k profilaci plzeňské Alfy a po listopadu 1989 kladenského Lampionu, kde byl také 15 let ředitelem. Jeho rekordní inscenací se stal loutkový Don Giovanni pod hlavičkou Národního divadla marionet v Říši loutek. Od roku 1991 dosáhlo toto nastudování na 5 500 repríz, bylo uvedeno na 80 místech Evropy, Afriky a Asie a dosud jej vyhledalo více než 700 000 diváků… Vytvořil také 35 inscenací na všech profesionálních loutkových scénách na Slovensku a je proto považován za patrona moderního slovenského loutkového divadla, kterému nezištně sloužil kontinuálně od 60. let.
