Dalším velkým úspěchem byl Caesar a Kleopatra (1917). Ještě ve válečném období upoutával české prostředí svým odsudkem války a svou pacifistickou tendencí. Nové nastudování Živnosti paní Warenové je podstatně úspěšnější a i další hry G.B Shawa (Pekelník, Kateřina Veliká, Milionářka, Svatá Jana, Androkles a lev a další) , které mají na repertoáru už i další česká divadla (Vinohradské, Realistické, Komorní a i divadla v Brně aj.) přibližují jeho dílo skoro v jeho celistvosti Naše divadlo se tedy může pyšnit tím, že vycítilo velikost G.B.Shawa již v jeho prvních jevištních rozbězích. Nešlo mu přitom jen o jeho zábavnost, která zaručuje divácký úspěch; šlo mu o životní a světový názor dramatika, který byl blízký české povaze svým úsměvným skepticismem a sarkastickou kritičností.
