Později pracoval v Centru Jamese Martina pro studium nešíření jaderných zbraní, v Americkém institutu pro mír a v roce 2008 působil v odborném personálu Komise pro prevenci zbraní hromadného ničení, šíření zbraní hromadného ničení a terorismu. V roce 2011 se připojil k Federaci amerických vědců, aby vedl její vzdělávací projekt v oblasti biologické bezpečnosti.
