Dub stál na nenápadném místě, přesto nepřehlédnutelný. Společně s fotografem Václavem Jiráskem pak sledovali, jak jeho listy zlátnou, viděli dopadat sníh na jeho již holé větve. Byli také u toho, když padl k zemi, i u každého dalšího kroku, který následoval. Na pile, v sušičce, v truhlárně. A zatímco byl rozřezáván na jednotlivá prkna, sušil se a truhláři mu dávali navržený tvar stolu, jezdili dál i do lesa, ze kterého pocházel a kde sto let rostl k nebi. Výstava fotografií Václava Jiráska spojená s prvním veřejným představením stolu Strom stejně jako stejnojmenná kniha zachycují celý proces zrodu stolu, ale více než dokumentem jsou pokusem Jany, Jiřího a Václava o zachycení života jednoho místa a o navázání na jeho příběh vložený do intarzie letokruhů ve středu stolu. Velmi osobním pokusem, ve kterém čas ztrácí své hranice a otvírá prostor Nekonečnu.
