Po válce se Felix Weinberg, aby vůbec dokázal jít dál, rozhodl potlačit své vzpomínky a neohlížet se zpátky. Po šedesáti pěti letech se odhodlal svůj příběh sepsat, učinil tak ale s nečekaným nadhledem. Jen tak se mohl vrátit k událostem, které ho připravily o milovanou maminku, malého bratra i všechny další příbuzné. Zůstal mu jen otec, který ještě před okupací Československa uvízl v Anglii. Spolu si tam nakonec vybudovali nový život.Měl jsem velmi šťastné dětství. Skončilo ovšem příliš brzy a příliš krutě vinou Adolfa Hitlera, já ovšem věřím, že právě na dětství záleží nejvíc. Vzpomínky na něj vytvářejí v mysli jakousi ulitu bezpečí a radosti, do níž se může člověk v dobách utrpení stáhnout. Moje ulita byla plná krásných vzpomínek a jistoty, že mě mí blízcí zbožňovali a milovali.
