Napísal životopis generála Bema – Takto žil József Bem a monografiu o poľských účastníkoch vojny za nezávislosť Boli sme s vami po celú dobu: Poliaci v maďarskej vojne za nezávislosť. Jeho román Príbeh jedného detstva získal v roku 1998 cenu Kniha roka a bol preložený do viacerých jazykov. Podľa románu Maďarský rozhlas odvysielal v roku 2002 rozhlasovú hru a režisér Pál Erd?ss nakrútil film, ktorého premiéra bola na päťdesiate výročie maďaskej revolúcie v Národnom filmovom divadle Urania.
