Prevažná väčšina lekárov vôbec netuší o negatívnych vlastnostiach liekov, ktoré im ich predajcovia odporúčajú či nanucujú, hoci určité percento - požívajúce finančné výhody alebo iné lukratívne ponuky vrátane zahraničných zájazdov a preplácania nákladov na rozličné konferencie (zväčša usporadúvané farmaceutickými firmami) to prinajmenšom tušiť musí. Ak si knihu prečítajú praktickí lekári, ktorí sú v primárnom priamom kontakte s pacientmi, určite si uvedomia, že odporúčania distribútorov liekov, ako aj obsah príbalových letákov, treba brať s určitou rezervou. Aj v agentúrach kontrolujúcich a schvaľujúcich lieky pracujú iba ľudia, z ktorých niektorí sú pod priamym vplyvom farmaceutických firiem, či dokonca vlastnia ich akcie. The edition of reproductions presents a set of 99 full and authentic photographs as black-and-white positives. Sám o sobě říká, že je nejen spisovatel, ale i badatel; veškeré rešerše a výzkumy historie si dělá sám a dává si záležet na tom, aby se jeho práce vždy co nejvíce držely historických poznatků.

Soubor literárních kritik českých prozaických děl, které vyšly mezi léty 2010-2017. Zápisky o próze české tvoří komponovaný cyklus tří desítek kritických statí a navazuje tak chronologicky na autorův první soubor Prozaická zastavení. Kritiky zařazené do souboru byly vybrány s ohledem na vypovídající hodnotu recenzovaných prozaických knih, které se zásadní měrou podílely na utváření čtenářského horizontu druhé dekády jednadvacátého století. Není přitom rozhodující, zda se jedná o autory zavedené (Kratochvil, Soukupová), méně známé (Přibil, Laub, Šimáček), či začínající (Grombíř, Menšík, Faulerová, Vrba). Intepretace širokého spektra recenzovaných textů zajišťují mnohotvárný, plastický obraz literárního dění v současné české próze, zároveň ovšem přinášejí určité společné tendence, proudy a pohyby literárních textů. Není vyloučeno, že právě tyto sdílené konstanty se v následujících letech projeví jako směrodatné pro další vývoj české prozaické produkce. Erik Gilk je docentem české literatury na Katedře bohemistiky Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci.
