Astronomer Florian Freistetter has chosen 100 stars that have almost nothing in common. Some are bright and famous, some shine so feebly you need a huge telescope. eBook:,This monograph has set itself the goal to examine, outline, elucidate, and supplement the existing body of knowledge concerning a theme from patristic and medieval theology recalled in 1953 by Marie-Dominique Chenu, and that is the assertion that man was created as a replacement for fallen angels (Yves Congar: créature de remplacement; Louis Bouyer: ange de remplacement). The study first shows that the idea of man having being created to take the place of fallen angels was introduced by St. Augustine and developed by other church fathers. It then identifies the typical contexts in which the subject was raised by authors of the early Middle Ages, but goes on to focus on the discussion that developed during the twelfth century (Anselm of Canterbury, the school of Laon, Rupert of Deutz, Honorius of Autun), which represents the high point of the theme under investigation, culminating in the assertion that man is an "original" being, created for its own sake, for whom God created the world – a world which together with, and through, man is destined for the heavenly Jerusalem. The question as to whether man would have been created if the angels had not sinned (cur homo) bears a clear similarity to a further controversy, the origins of which also go back to the twelfth century, and that is whether the Son of God would have become incarnate if man had not sinned (cur Deus homo). Next, the book sheds light on how the subject begins to gradually fade away through the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, both within monastic tradition, which nonetheless held onto Augustine's motif, and within scholastic theology, which asserted that man was created for his own sake. The conclusion summarizes the findings and points to the surprisingly contemporary relevance of the foregoing reflections, particularly in relation to the critique that the Swiss philosopher and theologian Romano Amerio († 1997) offers concerning a statement in the pastoral constitution of the Second Vatican Council (Gaudium et spes 24), according to which man is "the only creature on earth that God willed for itself". Based on period documents and photography, the book maps in detail the development of Czech non-university sciences from the 18th century when the Society of Unknown Scholars in the Austrian Lands was founded in Olomouc. The main attention is focused on the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and its most important precursors, whether the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, active in 1953-1992, or earlier institutions, such as the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts (originally the Emperor Franz Joseph Czech Academy for Sciences, Literature and Arts), founded in 1890, or the Royal Bohemian Society of Learning, which existed already from the 18th century. Každý titul má zcela nový obal, vždy jsme oslovili některého z výtvarníků, který měl ke kapele a jejímu uměleckému vyjádření blízko a snažili jsme se tím vytvořit kompaktní celek, který by propojil vše, co bylo na Plastic people unikátní a neopakovatelné. Hudební CD - Na žádost Václava Havla se Plastic People v „základní sestavě” sešli na pražském Hradě při oslavě 20. výročí vzniku Charty 77. Po 13 letech tak zahráli v plné sestavě pro stejné ksichty, jen ve větší stodole, a to ve Španělském sále. 10. ledna 1997 na osobní žádost Václava Havla, vystoupili Plastici na slavnostním večeru ke dvaceti letům Charty 77 ve Španělském sále pražského Hradu. Mejla koncert uvedl slovy: „Dobrý večer, tahle kapela se jmenuje The Plastic People Of The Universe a naposledy jsme spolu hráli v roce 1981, ovšem v poněkud menší stodole.” Tento ojedinělý koncert se podařilo sehnat ze dvou zdrojů, jeden ze zvukařského mixu a pak také z kamery, která celý večírek natáčela. To byl vlastně jejich poslední koncert odehraný veřejně, byť pro necelou stovku přátel. Opět máme k dispozici originální pás s nahrávkou Robina Karla Poppera a mastering provádí osvědčený Ondřej Ježek. Ohledně koncertu a vlastních Kerhartic jen "letem světem" asi tolik: patrový dům v Kerharticích nedaleko České Kamenice, který v roce 1978 koupila skupina lidí scházející se původně v malostranské hospodě U pavlánských. Šlo o velký patrový dům, kam se vešlo několik rodin, tento navíc stál o samotě asi kilometr od vesnice u křižovatky místních silnic. Přípravu koncertu provázely mimořádné konspirace, původní místo konání v Českém ráji bylo prozrazeno, tak asi dva dny před samotnou akcí padla volba na kerhartický barák. Hrálo se v neděli v časném odpoledni asi pro stovku lidí, kteří dostali pozvánky. Konspirace tentokrát vyšla, koncert se uskutečnil bez pozornosti policie a všichni se v pořádku rozjeli domů. Pomsta však přišla záhy - za pár týdnů celý dům do základu vyhořel a už nebyl nikdy obnoven. Nikdo už tehdy nepochyboval, že za tím byla StB, oficiálně zůstal "pachatel neznámý". A protože si myslíme, že legendou „o kapele, která svou hudbou porazila komunismus” bylo řečeno už vše a několikrát, soustředili jsme se opravdu na geniální hudbu Mejly Hlavsy, nadčasové texty a specifický sound kapely, který neměl ve světě obdoby.
