Stejně jako věda dala dnešní době vládnoucí mýtus, tak magie dala vládnoucí mýtus renesanci. Protože magie závisela na používání obrazů a obrazy byly v reformaci a následujících dějinách potlačeny a zakázány, byla magie nahrazena exaktní vědou a moderní technologií a nakonec zapomenuta. Culianova pozoruhodná vědecká práce nám pomáhá obnovit velkou část jejího původního významu a zaujme široké publikum v oblasti humanitních a společenských věd.
