Originál díla je napsán podle varianty přibližně v 800 - 1 000 dvojverších a má formu masnavíjského verše. Do češtiny je přeložena jako próza. Jednak je to nad moje síly a pak ze zkušenosti s pokusy rýmování perských básníků jsem přesvědčen, že je takto lepší. Lépe se zachová obsah sdělní a o ten jde myslím především. Tato kniha je druhá v pořadí vedle Ptačího sněmu, která se věnuje Attárovu dílu a přibližuje ho českým čtenářům. Patří mezi jeho ranná díla.
