The language contact of the inflectional Romani and Spanish, Catalan and other languages of the Iberian Peninsula began in the first half of the 15th century. The long-term and immediate contact between Romani and the language of the majority in several locations in Europe resulted in the emergence of what are known as the Para-Romani varieties - mixed languages which predominantly make use of the grammar of the surrounding language, while at least partly retaining the Romani-derived vocabulary. In the Iberian Peninsula, several Para-Romani varieties emerged. The process of their phonological, morphological and lexical evolution from the inflectional Iberian Romani is described in this book. In the opinion of the author, the original form of the Iberian Romani of the 15th century was similar to the "Early Romani" of the Byzantine period, which is thought to have ended by the 14th century when the Romani language started to disperse throughout Europe. However, the Roman Empire never permanently conquered the territory of Georgia. For this reason, diplomatic relations were also maintained with the local rulers, especially the kings of Iberia. The first centuries AD were a time of intense cultural exchange (through diplomacy and trade) between the southern Caucasus and the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire. Traces of these relations include valuable artefacts, found in elite burials and deposits, which we can see today in the Batumi Archaeological Museum, among others. This is no coincidence, as local communities living on the Black Sea coast from Trebizond to the Caucasus had particularly close relations with the Romans. Postupné nekoncepční torpédování dokumentů IPR v dlouhé vleklé krizi, způsobené ztrátou politické podpory následně doprovázela vypjatě destruktivní podoba veřejné diskuse. Tato nekonstruktivní atmosféra vyústila v bezdůvodné odvolání ředitele IPR Petra Hlaváčka koncem roku 2016, které bylo následováno solidárním odchodem celého tvůrčího týmu z institutu. K uklidnění došlo po několika měsících, v návaznosti na opětovný nástup původního týmu, kdy Roman Koucký zvítězil ve výběrovém řízení a stal se podruhé vedoucím Kanceláře metropolitního plánu.
