eBook: Over the past thirty years, the Czech public administration has been the subject of research rooted in law, economics, and history. However, only minimal attention has been paid to what Czech public officials actually do on the job (policy work) and the extent of politically motivated interference in their work (politicisation). This book aims to fill this gap by presenting the evidence derived from a large-N survey of the Czech ministries, the first of its kind in the country. The findings presented in the book offer new insights into the activities within the “ivory towers” of the Czech ministries and defy popular notions of an appallingly politicised bureaucracy.

This publication has several modest goals: We shall describe how we conceptualised religious memory for the purposes of qualitative and quantitative survey research, and we shall explain how we operationalised religious communicative and cultural memory and why we believe that the questionnaire we designed and present here can also be applied in other contexts outside Czech society. Given the volume of data we obtained, we want to present at least a portion of our results and show what types of findings were achieved through our conceptualisation and operationalisation of religious memory. Finally, we want to present non-Czech-speaking readers with a comprehensive work describing changes in religiosity in Czech society, in this case from the perspective of memory studies. In other words, we want to offer an international audience a piece of work broader than just a journal article focusing on the study of religion in the Czech Republic.

Two complete mummies, twelve isolated parts from ten individuals, and six funerary containers were introduced in a detailed catalogue, along with their respective provenances, and brief excursions into the health and disease of ancient Egyptian children, and their funerarytreatment.The studied material came from the collections of two divisions of the National Museum in Prague, namely the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures, and the Natural History Museum. The mummies were examined using non-invasive methods, and the results were compared to those published in the past.The containers, two boxes, two hampers, and two jars represent only a small part of typological repertoire of containers used for the deposition of burials of non-adult individuals.While the non-adult mummies and their isolated parts are without provenience, all of the six containers come from modern excavations at well-documented cemeteries at Deir el-Medina and Abusir. Examination by non-invasive methods, especially computed tomography, brought to light several findings including one possible case of traumatic death, and one possible case of rickets. Information on the use of mummification substances and techniques – including the reinforcement of spine – were also reported.

eBook: Evropské neonacistické hnutí se ze své ideologické podstaty staví negativně vůči globalizaci a mezinárodní migraci. Přesto samo těchto fenoménů využívá k sjednocování se na evropské a celosvětové úrovni ve snaze vytvořit jednotné hnutí, které bude schopné prosadit vlastní ideologii. V Evropě pozorujeme výrazné posilování mezinárodních vazeb mezi neonacisty z jednotlivých zemí, posilování vzájemných kontaktů a narůstající počet aktivit s mezinárodní účastí. Viditelné je rychlé šíření se jednotlivých konceptů a strategií a upevňování společné ideologie nacionálního socialismu s velmi jasnou vizí bílé Evropy. Cílem této publikace je analyzovat transnacionalizaci neonacistického hnutí, a to z perspektivy českých neonacistů. Publikace nabízí vhled do představy neonacistického hnutí o Evropě, představuje ideologii sjednocující jednotlivá národní neonacistická hnutí. Také představuje neonacistické koncepty a strategie jako příklady transnacionalizace. Dále identifikuje formy konkrétních aktivit mezinárodní spolupráce.
