An entirely new retrospective survey of the work of Israeli artist Orna Ben-Ami, including Ben-AmiÂ’s monumental public works in cut and welded iron, from the early 1990s to the present day.Ben-Ami first started to learn gold and silversmithing, at the Jerusalem Technological Centre, before studying sculpture at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC, between 1990 and 1992. From 1994 she became fully engaged in sculpture using iron as her principal raw material for her artistic expression. Throughout her work in iron, Ben-Ami expressed her feelings using welding, a primarily masculine art process, imbued with her own feminine instincts. She began expressing her personal memories, and later, she continued by expressing the preservation of memory, particularly the memories of transient and displaced peoples, be they refugees or migrants uprooting their lives in the search for a better and safer life in new lands.Ben-Ami has presented her works in 45 solo exhibitions around the world, including 23 exhibitions in museums across the United States. In 2017, her exhibition Entire Life in a Package , was hosted at the United Nations in Geneva and New York to draw attention to the global refugee crisis, focusing on refugees. In April 2024, she again presented the exhibition Negative Positive at the United Nations in New York, which told about the tragedy of the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. In these two exhibitions, she exhibited three-dimensional iron sculptures and combinations of sculptures attached to original news photographs of refugees and destroyed houses.This retrospective volume presents more than 100 key artworks covering the major themes Ben-Ami has drawn upon since the early 1990s, including Jewish refugees from Europe post-WWII, IsraeliÂ’s displaced in northern Israel and around the Gaza Strip post October 7, 2023, and Palestinian refugees both within and outside the Gaza Strip.

The Citroën 2CV was designed to bring affordable motoring to rural communities in France, but during a production run that spanned more than four decades it achieved far more than that. When already 25 years old, it presented an affordable solution to increasing fuel costs after the first Oil Crisis, and gained a legion of new devotees as a result. To help maintain its sales in this era, Citroën created a number of colourful special editions, which in some cases were specific to just one country, and in others differed between one country and the next. Along the way, the 2CV also became the foundation for a whole family of other small Citroëns, which were known collectively as the A-series models. The Ami, the Dyane and the Méhari provided simple and affordable passenger transport, and both these and the 2CV itself were further developed to provide light commercial vehicles as well. Meanwhile, licensed overseas assembly plants developed their own derivatives, which added further colour and interest to the 2CV story. There were far more varieties of these cheap and cheerful Citroëns than most people realise, and this book aims to catalogue them in an easily accessible format. It begins with an examination of the 2CV’s origins in the 1930s and then follows the evolution of the production cars before going on to look at the Ami, Dyane and Méhari models, in every case detailing the multiple special editions as well as the mainstream types. There are special chapters on the commercial derivatives, on the less well-known variants that were built in Europe, and on those created far from the car’s French home. The book closes with a look at the aftermarket conversions and accessories that became an important part of the 2CV story from the earliest times. For all those who love the A-series Citroëns as the factory or its outposts made them, this will be both an essential reference book and a constant source of fascination.

The field of health literacy has evolved from early efforts that focused on individuals to its current recognition that health literacy is a multidimensional team and system function. The purpose of the workshop, which was held on July 11, 2018, in Washington, DC, was to explore issues associated with effective communication with individuals with mental or behavioral health issues and to identify ways in which health literacy approaches can facilitate communication. In particular, the workshop aimed to gain a better understanding of how behavioral health and mental health concerns can adversely affect communications between providers and patients and their families.
