Gary Snyder (1930) sbírku Tenhle okamžik (This Present Moment) z roku 2015 označuje jako svou poslední: Trvalo mi deset let, než jsem získal pocit, že už je tak akorát. Samozřejmě že píšu dál, ale nemyslím, že by z toho byla další kniha. Pro buddhistu Snydera je nature - příroda, přirozenost - mnohem víc, než si obyčejně s tímto pojmem spojujeme - jsme to my, stromy i ptáci, krajina, ale stejně tak i stroje, tahače klád či generátory nebo počítače, věci, které se dnes s Přírodou tak či onak vzájemně ovlivňují. Podle básníka by bylo chybou ignorovat je i v poezii. K přírodě a přirozenosti ale také patří i rození a umírání...
