Autor si nebere servítky před nikým a před ničím, ať je to ministerský předseda, ženská otázka, cyklisti, imigranti nebo nepořádek na ulicích. Vědomě a trefně se vysmívá především politické korektnosti, která ovládla Anglii i celou spojenou Evropu, a ukazuje opravdovou tvář lidí a stav našeho světa pomocí překotných, o to však legračnějších nadsázek. Jeremy Clarkson se narodil roku 1960 v Doncateru v hrabství Yorkshire do rodiny učitelky a obchodního cestujícího. Jako středoškolský student byl vyloučen ze soukromé školy v Reptonu za požívání alkoholu, kouření a nevhodné chování. Jeho prvním zaměstnáním bylo prodávat pro otcovu firmu plyšové figurky medvídka Paddingtona. Poté začal psát pro různé anglické listy, nejdříve lokální a pak i celostátní. Časem se vyprofiloval jako píšící odborník na automobily. Roku 1984 založil agenturu MPA, která se specializovala na testy nových vozů a pak je prodávala těm periodikům, která za ně byla ochotná zaplatit. Posléze začal psát o autech i do prestižního časopisu Top Gear a od roku 1988 se stal světoznámým moderátorem stejnojmenného pořadu televize BBC, kde s dvouletou přestávkou vydržel od roku 1988 do roku 2015, kdy byl vyhozen za to, že fyzicky napadl produkčního, který mu po celodenním natáčení nezajistil teplou večeři.
