Důležitým právním nástrojem v oblasti mezinárodního obchodního styku je již více jak třicet let Úmluva OSN o smlouvách o mezinárodní koupi zboží, která byla přijata ve Vídni v roce 1980. Tato Úmluva představuje moderní jednotný právní rámec, kterým se řídí kupní smlouvy uzavírané mezi osobami, jejichž místa, resp. sídla podnikání se nacházejí v různých státech. Monografie je věnována problematice mezinárodní bezpečnosti a odzbrojení. Hlavním cílem bylo zaměřit se zejména na otázky spojené s posledním desetiletím, i když z důvodu významu některých událostí jsou zahrnuty i případy dřívější, zvláště v období po roce 1990. Pozornost je však věnována i starší historii mezinárodní bezpečnosti, zejména období mezi světovými válkami, hlavně postavení první Československé republiky a její zahraniční politiky. Těžištěm celé práce jsou otázky mezinárodní bezpečnosti doplněné o problematiku odzbrojení jako jednoho z komponentů zajištění mezinárodní bezpečnosti. Z hlediska celkové koncepce je monografie členěna na dvě části. První pojednává o základních pravidlech a mechanismech mezinárodní bezpečnosti. Jsou zde zahrnuty i otázky odzbrojení z hlediska mezinárodního práva. Druhá část obsahuje vývoj práva mezinárodní bezpečnosti a odzbrojení.
