Bude to už deset let, co Vráťa Brabenec, básník, spisovatel, zahradník a bývalý člen legendárních The Plastic People of the Universe, slíbil Bertě pohádku. Jenže místo psaní pohádky koncertoval, psal básně, zahradničil a tak. Berta mezitím vyrostla a na Vráťův slib se zapomnělo. Když I. M. Jirous nemohl z důvodu úmrtí pokračovat v psaní textů pro Divadelní noviny, zkusili oslovit Vráťu Brabence. A vyšlo najevo, že takový kratší, většinou jednostránkový, formát nejlépe vyhovuje jeho vypravěčskému stylu. Po prvním sborníku s názvem Podoby, vrhá se Brabenec vstříc trhu s dalším souborem textů, tentokrát pojmenovaném příznačně Trdliště.
