Některé z nich tvoří základní texty hluboké indické filosofie advaita-védanty, jiné ovlivnily různé sekty lidového hinduismu i asketickou jógu. Rovněž tvořily myšlenkové i východisko buddhismu a džinismu. Prostřednictvím buddhismu pak ršiové předali toto hluboké duchovní dědictví i ostatním národům Asie.
