Publikace Fake news a politika klasického Řecka nahlíží z poněkud nezvyklého úhlu pohledu na díla klasiků řecké historiografie Hérodota a Thúkýdida, ale i na další dobové texty, které komentují politické dění v athénské polis. Zabývá se zejména texty filozofů a dramaticků ů druhé poloviny 5. století př. n. l. Dílčím úkolem práce je zformulovat definici fenoménu fake news, na jejímž základě by bylo možné tento fenomén odpoutat od současnosti a ukázat, že se s ním lze setkat již v antických pramenech. Dále se práce pokouší demonstrovat konkrétní případy fake news v athénské politice a kriticky interpretovat komentáře k tomuto jevu ve vybraných dílech dramatu a filozofie. Ústředním tématem knihy je tedy příběh (a vliv) prvních zdokumentovaných potenciálních fake news v řecké demokratické společnosti 5. století př. n. l. Hlavním cílem práce je pak popsat a na příkladech vyložit princip fungování fake news jakožto velmi komplexního informačního mechanismu. První monografie Ondřeje Vinaře vychází z jeho úspěšně obhájené diplomové práce a je zároveň prací dizertační. Autor je studentem doktorského programu Filozofické fakulty Univerzity Hradec Králové a na Katedře filozofie a společenských věd se ve svém studiu zabývá především tématy ukotvenými v období druhé poloviny pátého století př. n. l.

Webcomics exploit a socio-technical convergence between digital platforms and participatory cultures, enabling global authors to work together with global audiences to transcend established print comics structures. After defining digital comics, webcomics and webtoons, this Element presents a case study of Korean platform WEBTOON, which achieved 100 billion global page views in 2019. The study analyses data from their website, including views, subscriptions and likes, to quantify and assess whether WEBTOON''s commercial and critical success is connected to its inclusion of a wider range of genres and of a more diverse author base than mainstream English-language print comics. Despite widespread concerns over the ills of partisan news, evidence provides a nuanced, albeit cautionary tale. On one hand, findings suggest that the rise of Fox indeed changed elite political behavior in recent decades. At the same time, the limited conditions under which Fox News'' influence occurred suggests that concerns about the network''s power may be overstated.
