K tomu, že dílo úplně nezapadlo, paradoxně přispělo rozvíjející se studium psychedelických látek a skutečnost, že objevitel LSD a spisovatelův přítel Albert Hofmann z něj obšírně cituje ve své knize LSD, mé nezvedené dítě - Jüngerovi zde věnuje celou jednu kapitolu.
