Období let 1951 – 1961 bylo pro pokračování historie Zvolenského leteckého pluku zvoleno záměrně. Je totiž významné přechodem na proudovou leteckou techniku a zároveň tím, že pluk byl od roku 1952 do roku 1961 součástí 1. lsd/sld. Rok 1951 přinesl převratné změny. Probíhaly přípravy na hromadné přezbrojení letectva proudovou technikou. K tomuto úkolu byla určena celá 3. ld, u jejíchž pluků proběhl pečlivý kádrový výběr pilotů pro přeškolení. Samozřejmým předpokladem, kromě pilotních schopností, byla naprostá oddanost KSČ, lidově demokratickému zřízení a SSSR. Od února 1951 působilo na letišti Mladá „Výcvikové středisko určené k přeškolování na proudová letadla“, reorganizované dnem 1.6.1951 na „Proudové výcvikové středisko letectva“. Právě zde se mělo rodit československé proudové letectvo. 1. lp se ještě zúčastnil květnové vojenské přehlídky v Praze dne 6.5.1951 k výročí osvobození Československa Rudou armádou. Letecká část byla pojata vskutku velkolepě za účasti více než 200 letounů, které měly defilovat nad letenskou plání současně s pochodujícími útvary pěchoty a dalších pozemních zbraní. V den přehlídky právě v čase zahájení vzletu jednotlivých skupin se však přes Prahu hnala silná přeháňka se sněhem a nízkou oblačností. Formace sice vzlétly, ale v nepříznivých podmínkách se věci odvíjely jinak než bylo plánováno. Při tehdejším stavu radiotechnického zabezpečení řízení letového provozu bylo zázrakem, že za daných povětrnostních podmínek přehlídka neskončila ještě hůře. Po přehlídce se vybraný personál pluku spolu s 5. a 8. lp přemístil během května - června 1951 z dosavadních posádek do Mladé, kde bylo pak zahájeno teoretické a poté i praktické přeškolení na sovětské proudové letouny MiG-15, v čs. letectvu značené S-102. Dosavadní výzbroj, letouny S-199 a zbývající personál byl přesunut na plzeňské letiště Bory, s určením pro nově založený 18. lp. Jako první zahájil přeškolení již v květnu 1951 8. lp, personál vybraný pro 5. lp jej následoval během června, poté zahájil nově postavený 11. lp a 23.7.1951 zahájil přeškolení 1. lp. Proudová éra začala.

Konečnú bodku za celou kauzou tzv. slovenského buržoázneho nacionalizmu, ktorá ho dostala do väzenia, dala až súdna a stranícka rehabilitácia v roku 1963. Gustáv Husák stál po svojom zatknutí doslova na krok od šibenice a rozhodovalo sa o jeho bytí a nebytí. V roku 1951 sa stal najhorším zločincom v republike, a pre neho i celú jeho rodinu sa začalo obdobie obrovského utrpenia, ktoré im navždy poznačilo životy. Manželka s dvomi malými synmi musela zápasiť o holú existenciu, zatiaľ čo on vo vyšetrovacej väzbe prechádzal peklom. Kruté vyšetrovanie, fyzické a psychické mučenie, pobyt na samotke. Ako jeden z mála sa na súde nepriznal k vymysleným obvineniam a bránil sa. Konečný verdikt znel doživotie.

In the weeks after the end of the War in May 1945, 156 U-boats surrendered to the Allies. Some of these either surrendered at sea or directly in a variety of ports, whilst the majority were taken over whilst moored in German bases in Norway, Denmark and France. Nine gave themselves up in the USA, Canada and Argentina. This book provides a comprehensive record of the surrender of all these vessels, and it also includes the story of the 200 or so U-boats which were scuttled, rather than surrendered, in the final days of the War. And it includes details of others which have been raised since and then either been used or scrapped. The author begins by describing the development of Allied policy in 1943, 1944 and early 1945 for the surrender and disposal of the German Navy and its surviving U-boats. It then explains the surrender arrangements, as well as the discussions concerning U-boats at the Potsdam Conference in July 1945 and by the Tripartite Naval Commission (TNC) in Berlin between August and December 1945. The uses and fates of all the surrendered U-boats are then described, particularly those which were formally allocated to the UK, the USA and the USSR. It includes the story of the capture of U-505, before concluding with a schedule showing the final disposal details of each of the U-boats which surrendered. Uvidíte i žalostné zbytky bombardérů kdysi hrdé a mocné Luftwaffe, jak namísto pum na nepřítele shazují v předjaří 1945 svým obklíčeným vojskům kdesi v Polsku kontejnery s panzerfausty a zásobami, přičemž za sebou potupně vlečou stejně napěchovaný výsadkový kluzák DFS 230. Jako pikantní přívažek všem zájemcům pak toto DVD obsahuje i velmi zajímavý přehled o německých plovákových letadlech i létajících člunech, které používalo Německo během druhé světové války. Od zastaralých dvouplošníků He-60 a He-51W, dvoumotorového He-59 i jednomotorového Arado Ar-196, startujícího například z křižníku Scharnhorst, přes He 115 dokonce i v barvě, Blohm und Voss Bv.138, Dornierovy Do-18 a mnohem známější Do-24, a největší létající čluny, které byly během druhé světové války nasazeny, Blohm und Voss BV-222 a BV-238. To vše můžete shlédnout v opravu nevšední kvalitě v záběrech, které se rozhodně neopakují.

Fallschirmjäger - německé elitní výsadkové jednotky, které Spojenci nazývali zelenými dábly“ a v Československu je podle slova der Jäger (příslušník elitní pruské pěchoty, ale také myslivec) přezdívali „padákovými myslivci" Jak jste poznali již v prvním dílu, největší operací Zelených ďáblů byla operace Merkur, přepadení a okupace Kréty v květnu 1941. Byla to doba, kdy tehdy jediná (První) divize Fallschirmjäger Luftwaffe a rovněž jediná, 22. vzdušná výsadková divize spadající pod pozemní sily (Heeres) opravdu operovaly ze vzduchu pomocí výsadků a byly vysazovány buď z letadel, jako byl Junkers JU-52, nebo třímotorový Junkers Ju-252 (později JU-352) nebo byly na místo dopravovány pomocí kluzáků tažených za dopravními letadly, jako byl kluzák Gotha, či dokonce Me-321 Gigant pro 200 mužů výsadku, který byl později motorizován jako Me-323 Gigant a se šesti motory uvezł 15 tun nákladu, nebo 140 vojáků. Také ostatní vybavení výsadkářů bylo prvotřídní. Hlavní zbraní se vedle samopalu MP-40 stala od roku 1943 takzvaná výsadkářská puška (Fallschirmjägergewehr) FG-42, předobraz dnešních univerzálních automatických zbraní, k dopravě były užívány motocykly BMW R-75 s poháněným sidecarem, pásové „motocykly" Kettenkrad, polopásové transportéry Sakíz 250, 251 a 253 v nejrůznějších modifikacích, výsadkář měli ve výzbrojí stíhače tanků, prvotřídní kanony FLAK ráže 88mm v tažené i samohybné verzi a další zbraně a vozidla.Paradesantni jednotky byly Hitlerovou oblíbenou zbrani. Snad pproto po krvavém vítězství na Krété již nedovolil žádnou rozsáhlou vzdušnou výsadkovou operaci, Sešlo i z velké operace Herkules k obsazení Malty, plánované na rok 1942. Postupně se z paradesantních jednotek staly elitní jednotky pěchoty. A jako celé německé ozbrojené síly postupně přestávaly být jednoznačně útočnou silou a stále více se stávaly obránci. Tak výsadkáři bránili německé pozice v Tunisku Casserinském průsmyku, na Sicilii, u Anzia a na Monte Cassinu, v Římě i Toskánsku, v Sovětském svazu u Leningradu, Kijeva a v Bělorusku, v Normandii na poloostrově Cotentin, u Arnhemu ph operaci Market Garden, v ruhrské kapse v Německu, na Rýně u Remagenu a nakonec při marné obraně Berlína, kde byla zničena 9. divize Fallschirmjäger vytvořená v roce 1944 právě k obraně hlavního města a přístupů k němu. A tak od roku 1942 uskutečnily německé paradesantní jednotky jen málo vzdušně-výsadkových operací a to přesto, že byly vytvářeny další vzdušně výsadkové divize Fallschirmjäger - 2. a 4. v roce 1943, 3 .. 5. a 9. v roce 1944 a 10. v roce 1945. Výjimku tvoříl výsadek na řecký ostrov Leros v roce 1943 a zejména osvobození italského diktátora Mussoliniho z internace na hoře Gran Sasso v září 1943, kterému velel na základě výběru samotného Hitlera příslušník SS Otto Skorzeny. K poslednímu vzdušnému výsadku Zelených dáblů došlo při zimní ofenzívě 1944/1945 v Ardenách.

O Květnovém povstání 1945 byla již publikována řada historických prací i memoárových svědectví. Zvláštní místo mezi nimi má vzpomínkový soubor Pražské povstání 1945, vydaný roku 1965 Radou svobodného Československa ve Washingtonu v redakci profesora Otakara Machotky a obsahující několik cenných svědectví významných aktérů povstání, kteří po únoru 1948 odešli do exilu: místopředsedů České národní rady profesora Otakara Machotky a dr. Josefa Kotrlého, plukovníka Oskara Pejši, docenta Vladimíra Krajiny a dr. Františka Schwarzenberga. O půlstoletí později, v roce sedmdesátého výročí květnových událostí roku 1945, vychází v Praze rozšířená reedice tohoto sborníku, připravená profesorem Pavlem Machotkou a dr. Josefem Tomešem a doplněná o memoárová ohlédnutí předsedy České národní rady profesora Alberta Pražáka a jejího prvního místopředsedy Josefa Smrkovského. Bez ohledu na rozdílnost politických orientací a snah svých autorů se všechny vzpomínky shodují v závěru, že povstání napsalo heroickou kapitolu v dějinách Prahy a že prokázalo odhodlání českého národa bojovat za svou svobodu.

Předmětem Putnova zájmu je nejen katolická literatura vycházející v oficiálních nakladatelstvích, ale i četná tvorba samizdatová a bohatá tvorba českého katolického exilu.
