Jedním z mnoha hesel skandovaných v průběhu klíčové studentské demonstrace dne 17. listopadu 1989 bylo „Jakešovo gestapo“. Proč jsem toto provokativní sousloví vybral jako titul této publikace? Při studiu archivních dokumentů jsem totiž zjistil, že je až příliš často citováno ve svědectvích zasahujících příslušníků, mnohdy dokonce při zdůvodňování brutálnosti zásahu na Národní třídě. Evidentně příslušníkům obou složek Sboru národní bezpečnosti, Veřejné a Státní bezpečnosti vadilo, že byli spojování – navíc prostřednictvím jména nepříliš inteligentního generálního tajemníka ústředního výboru Komunistické strany Československa – se symbolem nacistického teroru. Pochopitelně je mi známa funkce německé tajné policie během existence Třetí říše, její činnost v podmínkách protektorátu Čechy a Morava, i existence dalších represivních složek.1 Nicméně díky symbolickému propojení nacistického a komunistického násilí ve vztahu k 17. listopadu 1989 šlo o logickou a nutno říci adekvátně emotivní reakci demonstrujícího davu. Proto „Jakešovo gestapo“. Jiný nástroj než skandované slovo jsme proti převaze pořádkových jednotek neměli. A fakt, že to příslušníkům – poslušným nástrojům vůle komunistické stranicko-bezpečnostní nomenklatury – výrazně vadilo, nás pochopitelně motivoval. „Jakešovo gestapo!“ Jako jeden z organizátorů studentské demonstrace ze 17. listopadu 1989 a účastník poslední fáze brutálního zásahu pořádkových jednotek Sboru národní bezpečnosti, Státní bezpečnosti a protiteroristického útvaru Správy vojsk MV, jsem byl spoluautorem jednoho z prvních prohlášení, ve kterém jsme mj. požadovali: 1/ Zveřejnění úplných a pravdivých informací o agresivní akci bezpečnostních složek. 2/ Zveřejnění jmen a povolání odpovědnosti všech osob odpovědných za násilný zásah proti pokojné manifestaci studentů dne 17. XI. 1989 v centru Prahy.2 Navazující prohlášení studentů pražských vysokých škol tyto výzvy přeformulovalo a rozšířilo na okamžité potrestání osob odpovědných za rozpoutání pražského masakru i jeho přímých vykonavatelů. Zveřejnění jmen a funkcí…3 Bohužel musím po třiceti letech konstatovat, že nebyla naplněna spravedlnost vůči všem těm pachatelům z řad bezpečnostního komunistického aparátu, kteří na Národní třídě a v jejím okolí porušili platné zákony. Na naše oprávněné požadavky nicméně de facto neodpověděla (anebo velmi obecně) ani Společná komise sněmoven Federálního shromáždění ČSSR/ČSFR a České národní rady pro dohled na vyšetření událostí ze dne 17. listopadu 1989 v Praze4, ale ani na ní navazující parlamentní vyšetřovací komise FS ČSFR pro objasnění událostí 17. listopadu 1989.5 Nebylo divu, že jsem se k těmto našim bezprostředním požadavkům vracel v podstatě na všech svých působištích, počínaje Úřadem dokumentace a vyšetřování činnosti Státní bezpečnosti (1993–1994) a Úřadem dokumentace a vyšetřování zločinů komunismu (1995–1999), přes Ústav pro soudobé dějiny Akademie věd ČR (1999–2006), Ústav pamäti národa v Bratislavě (2004–2006), odbor archiv bezpečnostních složek Ministerstva vnitra ČR (2006–2007) až po Archiv bezpečnostních složek a Ústav pro studium totalitních režimů (od 2007). Zůstal jsem mezi svými kolegy a přáteli z listopadu 1989 svého druhu posledním mohykánem sveřepě se snažícím v rámci svých sil a možností na tyto dobové výkřiky odpovědět. Proč? Jednak z důvodu určitého morálního závazku vůči stovkám brachiálně zmlácených demonstrantů, a pochopitelně také proto, že jsem si bezpečnostní politiku komunistického režimu a její realizaci vybral jako jedno ze svých dlouhodobých výzkumných témat. Pochopitelně v tom hrál roli i fakt, že se česká historiografie až dosud poměrně nepochopitelně k tématu listopadu 1989 a jeho různým mocenským aspektům v podstatě obrátila zády. Proto jsem se rozhodl připravit tuto publikaci. Z časových důvodů jde povětšinou o již publikované studie anebo části knížek, ovšem aktualizované, doplněné o nový poznámkový aparát, a v některých případech i o nové dokumenty v příloze. Zřetelnou výjimkou je devátá kapitola o přípravách a zásahu na Národní třídě, která ještě nikde publikována nebyla. Jednotlivé kapitoly jsem sestavil v tomto pořadí: 1/ Hlavní správa kontrarozvědky SNB (II. správa SNB). Boj proti vnitřnímu nepříteli, 1988–19896 a na ní navazující 2/ Informační tok Státní bezpečnosti v roce 19897, 3/ Ochránkyně „socialistické“ zákonnosti. Politické řízení prokuratury proti vnitřnímu nepříteli, 1988-19898, 4/ Rozkol mezi „přáteli“. Krach československo–maďarské spolupráce v kontrarozvědné oblasti9, 5/ KGB SSSR a 17. listopad 1989. Poslední dohoda o československo-sovětské spolupráci v kontrarozvědné oblasti10, 6/ Causa Rudolf Hegenbart11, 7/ Poslední dny generálního tajemníka KSČ. Miloš Jakeš po 17. listopadu 198912, 8/ „Legalizace“ poručíka Ludvíka Zifčáka. Rozsáhlá dvousvazková publikace (1. díl – 1919-1989) přibližuje pohnuté osudy zakládající fakulty Masarykovy univerzity. První díl zachycuje vývoj fakulty 1919 až 1939, 1945 až 1950, 1969 až 1989. V každém z oddílů najdete především popis obecného dění na fakultě včetně jejího umístění, které se několikrát měnilo, organizační struktury, postavení učitelů a studentů, výuky a vědecké práce. První oddíl 1919-1939 zachycuje snahy o založení české univerzity na Moravě a stručnou charakteristiku situace po zavření českých vysokých škol. Podobně závěr druhého oddílu 1945-1950 připomíná též osudy studentů, učitelů a fakultní budovy po roce 1950. Do třetího oddílu 1969-1989 autoři zase vstoupili ohlédnutím za přípravou znovuotevření fakulty. Nedílnou součástí Dějin Právnické fakulty MU v Brně je obrazová dokumentace. Lze ji rozdělit do tří částí. První část fotografií dokresluje výklad přímo v textu, druhou jsou portrétní fotografie a fotografie titulních stran základních děl, připojené k medailonkům jednotlivých učitelů, a konečně třetí tvoří tematicky uspořádané celky na konci celé publikace (portréty děkanů, budovy, insignie, vestibul a aula, razítka). Každé kulaté výročí nejvýznamnější události našich moderních dějin, 17. listopadu 1989, inspiruje mnohé k zamyšlení a k nahlédnutí této události zase o něco pozměněným pohledem. Bývalý prezident České republiky Václav Klaus, po svých knihách ke kulatým výročím listopadu z let 2009, 2014 a 2019, přichází po pěti letech s novým esejem, tentokrát již k pětatřicátému výročí.Nejde mu o historické detaily a dějepis, i když i ty jsou podstatné, protože mnozí již leccos zapomněli a jiní to už nevědí. Bývalého českého prezidenta a jednu z klíčových osobností polistopadových změn zajímá dnešek. Na něj nahlíží prostřednictvím tehdejších událostí a pozitivních změn, které rok 1989 umožnil a byly v naší zemi následně provedeny. Základní myšlenkou výročního textu je teze, že naše polistopadová cesta vpřed se poněkud zadrhla. Václav Klaus tak svým esejem hledá odpověď na otázku, zda jdeme od listopadu 1989 ještě stále kupředu, anebo už nikoli?

Intenzivní korespondenci obou adresátů skrze železnou oponu (Prečan žil v letech 1976-1989 v tehdejším západním Německu, Havel v Československu ) usnadnila pomoc diplomatů působících v Praze, především Němce Wolfganga Scheura a Kanaďana Petera Bakewella. Kromě 244 dopisů, které si Havel s Prečanem vyměnili v letech 1983-1989 (Prečan jich napsal 113, Havel 131 - zabírají 630 tiskových stran), jsou v knize otištěny dva jejich dopisy z přelomu let 1978-1979. Na 140 stranách tematicky uspořádaných příloh se v knize uveřejňují dokumenty s korespondencí těsně související: mimo jiné Havlova korespondence s Josefem Škvoreckým ohledně vydání knihy Dopisy Olze, s Pavlem Tigridem (čtyři dopisy z roku 1984) a s Jiřím Pelikánem. Knihu uzavírá studie historika Jiřího Suka Společně pro Chartu 77, nezávislou kulturu a svobodné Československo. Podle Suka patří dopisy Václava Havla a Viléma Prečana k nejdůležitějším a nejzajímavějším pramenům dokládajícím systematické spojení domácí a exilové rezistence v čase Charty 77. O čem si ti dva psali, někdy v dlouhých dopisech, jindy v krátkých vzkazech, ale skoro vždy ve spěchu, v časové tísni, která nedovolovala stylizaci? V mnoha dimenzích tu vyvstává obraz československé agendy : vzájemná informace o problémech disentu z jedné a exilu z druhé strany, dojednávání a pokyny o tom co zařídit, co uveřejnit v zahraničí, co obstarat pro potřeby domova . Střídají se s úvahami o dějinách, o diskusích i osobnostech v prostředí disentu a exilu. Dočítáme se o tom, jak vznikaly Havlovy hry a další texty, jak se s nimi pracovalo v zahraničí; pozorujeme zrod dvou sborníků Havlových úvah a esejů - O lidskou identitu (1984) a Do různých stran (1989). V úhrnu je to dosud nejpodrobnější svědectví o tom, co učinilo z Václava Havla vůdčí postavu disentu, opozice, a nakonec občanského hnutí za svobodu a demokracii pro všechny; že to nebylo jen jeho svobodné a osvobozující slovo. Jeho dopisy víc než cokoli jiného dokumentují spoustu drobné práce, kterou na sebe Václav Havel bral a kterou vykonával systematicky, svědomitě, s plným nasazením. Dokládají rovněž, co všechno inicioval, čemu dal konečnou podobu, které aktivity koordinoval, koho byl s to dát dohromady ke společnému zápasu za svobodu, jak podporoval soulad, harmonizoval, usmiřoval radikály z jedné i druhé strany. A co všechno a koho spojoval a propojoval - nejen doma, ale i přes hranice, v desítkách dopisů do zahraničí, o nichž je tu řeč; procházely Prečanovýma rukama, který je rozesílal k adresátům a zprostředkovával odpovědí. Podobně plasticky se v dopisech zrcadlí všechny rozměry Prečanova života, který se napínal jako špagát mezi dvěma světy - světem historika a tím, co sám nazýval current Czechoslovak agenda , kde vystupoval střídavě nebo i současně jako archivář, organizátor a administrátor, pošťák či vlastně poštmistr, dopravce a šofér, svého druhu pašerák, ale také redaktor a vydavatel textů jiných autorů. A tak se čtenář stává svědkem několika zázraků: zázraku intenzívní komunikace mezi domovem a exilem, zázraku zrodu dokumentačního střediska, a pak zázraku největšího, protože nejdalekosáhlejšího: zázraku návratu svobody do střední a východní Evropy. V úvodu knihy editor prozrazuje, co bylo jeho největší ambicí: dostát nároku vědeckého vydání pramenů, ale současně učinit knihu co nejsrozumitelnější pro čtenáře, kterému nebude sloužit jako pramen k dalšímu studiu. Tomu je přizpůsoben poznámkový aparát (co nejstřídmější), zařazení příloh, rozčlenění dopisů do sedmi kapitol uvedených stručným výkladem, přehledným záhlavím. A studio Marvil, které navrhlo grafickou úpravu a pořídilo sazbu, se postaralo o to, aby se kniha dobře četla , byla navzdory svému rozsahu (856) stran byla lehká a vázaná tak, že se snadno otevírá a listuje a dá se číst i v posteli. Jako informaci uveřejňujeme tiráž knihy, její obsah, soubor úvodních pasáží k sedmi kapitolám dopisů a ukázky z několika dopisů.

Rozsahem i šíří pojetí monumentální třísvazkové dějiny české katolické literatury Martina C. Putny mapují významnou část české národní kultury od roku 1848 do roku 1989. Putna se neomezuje na výčet a charakteristiku všech děl české katolické literatury daného období, ale činí mnohem více: zasazuje českou katolickou literaturu daného období do kontextu evropského a světového, přičemž si všímá nejen literatury krásné, ale i vývoje dějin křesťanství a křesťanské teologie, prací filosofických a esejistických a katolickou literaturu vnímá v kontextu s jinými náboženskými a filosofickými směry a proudy (protestantismem, pravoslavím, ateismem, judaismem, mimoevropskými náboženstvími). Jádrem Putnova zájmu je - na tomto širokém pozadí zkoumaná - česká katolická literatura krásná: próza, poezie, drama, esejistika, memoárová literatura a odborné práce literatury se týkající). Uchopuje ji čtivým, esejistickým stylem, který je sdělný a dokáže zaujmout nejen čtenářskou veřejnost odbornou, ale každého, kdo se zajímá o českou literaturu, kulturu a společnost v letech 1945-1989. Předmětem Putnova zájmu je nejen katolická literatura vycházející v oficiálních nakladatelstvích, ale i četná tvorba samizdatová a bohatá tvorba českého katolického exilu. Kniha je završením mnoha let autorovy odborné práce.

Shromáždění na pražském Albertově, euforický pochod po nábřeží a následný masakr na Národní třídě vstoupily do dějin. Kniha Ten den: 17. listopad 1989 shromažďuje více než dvě stě přímých svědectví demonstrantů zkušených, ale i těch, kteří ten den vyšli do ulic poprvé, organizátorů i řadových účastníků, náhodných kolemjdoucích, zasahujících policistů i povolaných záchranářů. Jak prožili 17. listopad a co od něj očekávali? S jakými myšlenkami ráno vstávali a jakou budoucnost viděli před sebou, když byla demonstrace rozehnána a sčítaly se šrámy? Na čtenáře tak nemluví oddělení aktéři 17. listopadu 1989, ale sám tento den. Dává slovo známým i neznámým aktérům událostí, tedy i těm, kteří o svých zážitcích dosud nikdy veřejně nehovořili.
