Úspěšná krimisérie byla přeložena do 15 jazyků a dočkala se i filmového zpracování. V roce 2016 byl autor vyznamenán čestným titulem Mécéne de Bretagne. V českém překladu všechny tituly série vydalo nakladatelství Euromedia Group. Jan Teplý ml. Narodil se v Praze, kde také vystudoval státní konzervatoř. První angažmá získal v Klicperově divadle v Hradci Králové. V roce 1998 odešel do Divadla pod Palmovkou, kde působí dodnes. Z rolí: Orfeus (J. Anouilh: Eurydika), Vlas (M. Shakespeare: Othello) a mnoho dalších. Hostoval také v Divadle na Vinohradech, ve Švandově divadle a na scénách menších divadel. V rámci Letních shakespearovských slavností hrál mj. Laerta (Hamlet), Birona (Marná lásky snaha), Cassia (Othello) či Orlanda (Jak se vám líbí). Můžete jej znát z mnoha televizních inscenací, filmů a seriálů. Věnuje se také dabingu, rozhlasu a audioknihám. Za role v inscenacích Divadla pod Palmovkou byl již třikrát nominovaný na Cenu Thálie za mužský herecký výkon. První nominace byla v roce 2008 za roli Mánka (G. Preissová: Gazdina roba), poté za Jaga (W. Shakespeare: Othello) v roce 2014. A třetí nominaci získal o dva roky později za roli Maximiliána Aueho (J. Littlell, D. Majling: Laskavé bohyně).
