To vše v kontextu etnografie sociálních praktik fanouškovské komunity, od společného sledování seriálů přes výměnu nahraných videokazet po fanouškovské srazy (cony) nejrůznějšího typu a rozsahu. Jenkinsova klasická práce tak nabízí jedinečný raný pohled na dnes všeprostupující kulturu participace, jež se i prostřednictvím sociálních sítí stala jedním z nejvýraznějších atributů dnešních dní.
