Dvojice protikladů má ovšem základ v původní jednotě. V systematizaci analogií se Schelling věnuje procesům elektřiny, magnetismu a chemických proměn. Zamýšlí se nad ději probíhajícími v rostlinné a živočišné říši, kterým rovněž vládnou dva vymezující se i spolupracující principy (projevující se např. jako iritabilita a senzibilita), výsledkem jejichž působení je neustálé dynamické narušování a obnovování rovnováhy, v němž spočívá život. Autorův přístup charakterizuje citlivé vnímání oživenosti všech součástí vesmírného organismu. Jeho polemika s mechanistickým chápáním přírodních zákonů vytrhuje čtenáře ze svůdné, avšak marné spokojenosti s dosaženým poznáním, nad nímž budoucí věky možná jen mávnou rukou.
