Už jako malý chlapec miloval komiksy a rád četl strašidelné příběhy. Ne náhodou nazval hrdinu Příšerných příběhů strýce Montaguea podle svého oblíbeného spisovatele Edgara Allana Poea. Řadu let se živil jako úspěšný ilustrátor, malíř a karikaturista především v novinách a časopisech (mj. The Times nebo The Independent). Jeho první kniha jako autora, Dog Magic! (2000) byla vybrána do užšího výběru pro Children’s Book Award. Od té doby napsal několik knih beletrie, naučné literatury a především knížek pro děti, u nichž nadšení čtenáři s potěšením trnou hrůzou a strachem. Do češtiny byly přeloženy jeho knihy Pan Krátur (2010), inspirovaný slavným Frankensteinem Mary Shelleyové, Příšerné příběhy z temného tunelu (2009), Příšerné příběhy z Černé lodi (2010) a Příšerné příběhy vánoční (2012), které byly v našem vydavatelství natočeny také jako audiokniha. Jan Vondráček (1966) Po studiu na katedře alternativního a loutkového divadla DAMU se stal členem nově vzniklého Dejvického divadla. Odtud odešel spolu s dalšími kolegy do souboru Divadla v Dlouhé. Zde zazářil v celé řadě rolí, za Lelia v Goldoniho Lháři získal Cenu Alfréda Radoka za rok 2005. K divadelním inscenacím rovněž skládá a aranžuje hudbu. Výborně zpívá, hraje na několik hudebních nástrojů a objevuje se v televizi a ve filmu (Sametoví vrazi, Pokoj v duši, Příběh kmotra). Intenzivně se také věnuje dabingu, jeho hlas se stal známý především díky seriálu Mentalista, kde mluví hlavní postavu Patrika Janea . V roce 2010 obdržel za tento výkon diváckou Cenu Františka Filipovského. Viktor Kuzník (1997) Student třetího ročníku činoherního herectví na DAMU. Za roli čtrnáctiletého Williama s dětskou mozkovou obrnou v rozhlasové hře Krásný mladý obludy byl nominován v anketě Českého rozhlasu Neviditelný herec. Hostuje v Divadle A. Dvořáka v Příbrami ve inscenaci Obsluhoval jsem anglického krále (hlavní role Jan Dítě), dále hostuje v Divadle U Valšů a v Divadle Kolowrat, kde působí s nově vznikajícím spolkem Činohra 16:20.
