The weapons, equipment and technology used are explored, as are the conditions in which the U-boat crews served, from cooking facilities and general hygiene down to the crude toilet facilities. Třetí díl trilogie Brno-Brünn 1939-1945 zachycuje poslední úsek tohoto časového období, tedy závěrečné měsíce okupace a také osvobození. Město žilo i tehdy svým životem nehledě na narůstající perzekuci. Brno se stalo nejprve terčem amerických náletů, z nichž tři největší způsobily městu obrovské škody, ale fronta se k městu teprve blížila. V knížce jsou popsány i nálety sovětské, evakuace německého obyvatelstva, útěk gestapa a konečně i boje přímo v ulicích města, také situace ihned po osvobození. Je podrobně popsána i návštěva prezidenta Beneše v první polovině května 1945 a odsun německých obyvatel z města na konci téhož měsíce.
