In Switzerland, narrow- and standard-gauge Alpine lines are featured, including the well-known Bernina Pass and Jungfrau railway. In Austria, a variety of steam locomotives are seen, as well as some vintage electric locos of the 1920s and 1930s. Locations include the Eisenerz-Vordernberg rack and pinion line carrying steam-hauled iron ore trains up gradients of as much as 1 in 14.With previously unpublished images throughout, this nostalgic tour of Europe’s railways in the 1970s will delight enthusiasts both young and old.
