Právě v době stupňujícího se mezikonfesního napětí mezi léty 1580-1620 byly vydány dvě třetiny studovaných listin, z čehož je patrné, že se je oba tábory snažily využívat k upevnění svých pozic v obou korunních zemích. Doprovozen je více než stovkou vzácných fotografií z Topolova rodinného archivu, z nichž většina je zde publikována poprvé.
