Toto víceřečí je v edici zachováno: německé ani francouzské dopisy či úryvky z nich v rámci vysvětlivek nejsou přeloženy, čtenář je tak symbolicky ponechán napospas této stránce Laurinovy společenské situovanosti, zakotvené sice ponejvíce v Praze, de facto však - právě v korespondenčním styku - permanentně přeshraničné.

Texty dvou deníků, které sepsal při svých cestách automobilem Benz z Liberce do Gondorfu dvaadvacetiletý Theodor von Liebieg v letech 1984 a 1985, vydá koncem října Dům česko-německého porozumění v Rýnovicích pod názvem Deníky z cest 1894-1895. Jedná se o první vydání obou deníků v českém jazyce, které jsou doplněné informacemi o závodní kariéře Liebiega, jeho podílu na rozvoji automobilismu v Českých zemích i o jeho spolkové činnosti. Theodor von Liebieg byl jedním ze zakladatelů prvních auto klubů na území Rakouska-Uherska. Oba původní deníky existují pouze ve dvou vydání. Jedno je v Okresním archivu v Liberci, druhé v Muzeu Mercedes - Benz ze Stuttgartu. Pracovníci Sudetoněmeckého muzea v Mnichově z nich vytvořili katalog k výstavě Ferdinand Porsche a další průkopníci automobilového průmyslu z Čech , který končí v lednu 2026. Vnuk zakladatele rodinné firmy se narodil v Liberci15. června 1872 a zemřel ve stejném městě 23. května 1932. Svůj první automobil si osobně v létě roku 1983 objednal u Karla Benze v Mannheimu a v prosinci byl jeho vůz dopraven po železnici i se zkušeným mechanikem, který učil Liebiega s novým strojem zacházet. Liebieg se na svou první dálkovou trasu vydal hned následujícího roku se svým přítelem z gymnázia Franzem von Stránským. Druhou spolu absolvovali také do Gondorfu, ale po jiné trase a mimo jiné navštívili při ní i francouzské město Remeš. Autory české knihy jsou Petra Laurin, Raimund Paleczek (Sudetoněmecké muzeum Mnichov) a Jan Šebelka, překlad z němčiny Petra Laurin, velikost 21x20 cm, 96 stránek. V knize je víc než šest desítek fotografií, z nichž mnohé jsou publikovány poprvé. Na obálce je detail obrazu Hugo Charlemonta Jizda autem ze sbírek Galerie Lazně Liberec. Vydal Dům česko-německého porozumění v Jabloni nad Nisou - Rýnovicích ve spolupráci se Spolkem Němců v Liberci.

The author takes an approach that is both interdisciplinary and biographical by focusing on important figures in the politics and culture of interwar Prague, including Tomá Masaryk, the philosopher who became Czechoslovakia s first president; his daughter Alice, founding director of the Czechoslovak Red Cross; and Joze Plecnik, the Slovenian architect who directed the renovations of Prague Castle and designed one of the city s most renowned churches. This study of the beliefs and doubts held by these and other figures shows the transition from a (mostly) Catholic tradition to a new religious conception that was modern, humanistic, and detached from any institution much like the religious beliefs held by many Europeans today.
