Publikace Stanislav Podhrázský a přátelé je spojena se stejnojmennou výstavou, kterou připravil GASK k uplynulému stoletému výročí narození Stanislava Podhrázského (1920- 1999). Představuje průřez autorovým dílem v souvislostech uměleckého prostředí a osobních vazeb, v němž dílo vznikalo, klade důraz na období tvůrčího hledání, které bylo spojené se skupinou nejbližších přátel, kterými byli Miloslav Chlupáč, Zdeněk Palcr, Zbyněk Sekal a Mikuláš Medek. Text kurátorky výstavy Adriany Primusové zasazuje uměleckou tvorbu Podhrázského do souvislostí osobních vazeb a prostředí, v němž dílo vznikalo a hrálo ve složité historické době zásadní význam. Důraz je kladen na období tvůrčího hledání tohoto společenství, v němž se osobní vazby protínaly s intelektuálními zájmy a které vytvářelo paralelní myšlenkově svobodný prostor v nesvobodné době. Tyto umělce, kteří se stali určujícími osobnostmi českého poválečného umění, spojovala tvůrčí cesta, na níž v určité době sdíleli společný obraz světa. Text Daniela Vojtěcha Krajina mysli pak tento obraz světa přibližuje, když tvorbu Podhrázského uvádí do hlubších myšlenkových souvislostí. Dobový kontext doplňuje dosud nepublikovaný původní text Miloslava Chlupáče. Publikace předkládá velké množství reprodukcí vystavených děl a řadu dokumentačních dobových fotografií, z nichž je část reprodukována poprvé. Publikace ke stejnojmenné výstavě (Galerie Středočeského kraje, 13. 4. - 28. 9. 2025) přivádí po delší době opět do společného prostoru 3 umělecké projevy, které v devadesátých letech na mnoha skupinových i samostatných výstavách iniciovaly nový výtvarný názor na vizuální povahu naší současnosti. V tvorbě Veroniky Bromové, Markéty Othové a Kateřiny Vincourové se v konfliktní reflexi maskované, zastřené, zprostředkované reality a znejistělé identity vyhraňovala a diferencovala stylová kvalita v napjaté romanticko-klasické polaritě (exprese - řád, performance - meditace, obraz - objekt) napříč výtvarnými médii a formami. V účinu jejich vystoupení, který lze lapidárně charakterizovat heslem "napětí střídá uvolnění", byl konkretizován a zároveň ironizován nově zahlédnutý, emancipovaný časoprostor ve svých možnostech, omezeních, konfrontacích či průsečících. Jeden z nich pravidelně tematizovaly implicitní rozhovory mezi jednotlivými instalacemi těchto umělkyň a řešení nastolená v odpovědi na společné výzvy. Pokouší se konfrontovat trojí stylové východisko (výběr z prací z devadesátých let) uprostřed cesty a ověřit jeho současné možnosti (nové práce). Publikace navazuje na otázky, které nastolovala antropologie médií v souvislosti s reflexí technické povahy obrazu světa v digitálním věku: Českým a anglickým překladem je zde připomenuta prorocká přednáška pražského rodáka, filozofa Viléma Flussera z listopadu 1989, v jejímž závěru položil otázku, která nás může orientovat ... Publikace přináší konfrontaci českých a slovinských představitelů expresionismu v prvním dvacetiletí dvacátého století na pozadí německých zakladatelů tohoto směru. Sleduje jejich společná východiska i rozdíly při přijímání expre¬sionistických forem a avantgardní estetiky obecně. U obou národů současně s národní emancipací probíhal boj za emancipaci uměleckého projevu. Evropské umění někdejších impérií se tříštilo a v metropolích vznikalo mnoho nových stylů a směrů. Kulturní styky mezi českým a slovinským prostorem (které lze sledovat již od středověku) se v této době upevnily. Ve slovinském prostoru se v nové společenské konstelaci stal prvním "identifikačním" směrem expresionismus. V mnoha ohledech byl zprostředkován Prahou, která představovala pro slovinské výtvarné umělce od konce 19. století až do doby kolem roku 1930 důležitou křižovatku, místo, kde mohli studovat a utvářet svůj styl po obsahové i formální stránce. Stanislav Podhrázský (1920-1999) byl jako mnozí další v mládí silně ovlivněn surrealismem, zejména pak osobností Mikuláše Medka, záhy však přešel na vysoce autorskou, solitérní cestu.
