Kromě vlastních zážitků podplukovníka Moora a Josepha Gallowaye, jediného novináře na místě v době bojů, pomohly vytvořit celkový obrázek bitvy rozhovory, jež vedli se stovkami mužů, kteří tam bojovali, včetně severovietnamských velitelů. Tenhle drastický příběh pohlíží s nadhledem na konkrétní utrpení, jež zaznamenává, aby zachytil obrázek mužů čelících té největší výzvě způsobem, jaký si jen před několika hodinami vůbec nedokázali představit. Bitva v údolí Ia Drang demonstruje také americkou technologickou převahu, která bude hrát ve zbytku války velkou roli. Konečná porážka Spojených států ve Vietnamu nebyla výsledkem lepších válečných schopností severovietnamské armády, ale politických rozhodnutí americké vlády, která omezovala možnosti americké armády účinně se svým nepřítelem bojovat. Ovšem v podstatě jde o příběh hrdinů a o hrdinství. Kromě vlastního popisu bojů rekapituluje příčiny vzniku válečného konfliktu, jeho eskalaci a souvislosti s pohledem Američanů na ni. Stále zůstává jednou z nejlepších knih o bojích ve vietnamské válce. Velitel americké námořní pěchoty vybírá každý rok jednu knihu, o které je přesvědčen, že je tak významná a nestárnoucí, aby si ji přečetl každý mariňák. V roce 1993 vybral právě tuto knihu. Kniha má 8 stran černobílé obrazové přílohy. Podle této knihy byl natočen film Údolí stínů, v němž hrál hlavní roli Mel Gibson.

Hudební uskupení Coffee to Help pochází z Rakovníka. Na první poslech jde o něco výjimečného, něco, co se jen tak neslyší, něco, co vás přes svou neobvyklost zasáhne neobyčejnou silou a nutí tělo toho, kdo slyší, k nestandardním pohybům. Nohy si najednou podupávají samy od sebe, ruce si tleskají o stehna a vy se najednou přistihnete, že jste uprostřed nadoblačného stavení plného rytmu, hudby a harmonie. Velkou zásluhu na tom mají všichni členové, ale především pak klávesista Leoš Janoušek, autor hudební stránky všech skladeb. Coffee to Help je dvougenerační kapelou! Čtyři muzikanti patří ke generaci současné a čtyři ke generaci nastupující. K té mladší, která zásobuje skupinu energií, patří nejmladší Žofie Zrubcová. Zpěvačka, které daly sudičky do vínku šťávu mladého vína, hlas Lorelai a charisma Maty Hari. A aby bylo číslo osm kompletní (sluneční soustava má osm planet) pozvali všichni ke spolupráci saxofonistku Terezu Šváchovou. První koncert skupina odehrála v létě roku 2020 v areálu pivovaru Mutějovice ještě pod názvem N.S.R.M.S. (Neseremese, což zřejmě platí dodnes). Dnešní název pak vzešel demokratickým procesem a řádným hlasováním všech členů kapely z bohaté nabídky (namátkou lze jmenovat název "Slina") nekonečné fantazie všech osmi členů. Coffee to Help za dva roky nazkoušeli dvouhodinový repertoár tvořený výhradně vlastní tvorbou, odehráli řadu úspěšných koncertů a v letošním roce zkušenější část tělesa přivedla tu méně zkušenou do hudebního studia. Album "Cukr, káva, limonáda," vzniklo během prázdnin roku 2021 ve studiu ExAvik v Klatovech, pod bedlivým dohledem zvukového mistra Pavla Broma. Masteringu se ujal Adam Karlík ze SONO a lze bez nadsázky říci, že se ze strany skupiny stejně jako v případě nahrávacího studia jednalo o šťastný krok. A co album ukryté skvělým designem renomované grafičky Aničky Voříškové vlastně obsahuje? Coffee to Help se rozhodli do plastu CD zapsat hned třináct autorských skladeb. Hudební stránku má od první do poslední skladby na svědomí Leoš Janoušek. O textovou podobu alba se postarali dva autoři. Kytarista skupiny Jan Švácha a písničkářka Eva Suková, jezdící po českých klubech a hájích pod pseudonymem Blondýna. Známé písničkářce zhudebnila skupina Coffee to Help čtyři texty. Pro styl hudby zmiňované skupiny se velmi těžko hledá škatulka. Ačkoli její osazenstvo často přísahá na alternativu, ve svých promo materiálech to nikde neuvádí. Zřejmě proto, že nemá ráda škatulky a šuplíky, ale pravděpodobně i z toho důvodu, že alternativní směr má tolik větví a větviček, že heslo samotné vlastně nic neznamená. Albu dominují poměrně složité aranže, které jsou však ve svém důsledku lehce poslouchatelné. Člověk má chvílemi pocit, jako by okolo něho diskutoval dav lidí. Někdy se jeho individua hádají, aby vzápětí začala skandovat a po chvíli nechala vyniknout nejsilnější jednotlivce. Původní vizuální analýza pracuje jak s historickými fotografiemi z Burjatska a Tibetu, tak i vlastními autorovými terénními pozorováními a záznamy rozhovorů s aktéry. Vznik nové formy buddhismu v rámci tradiční burjatské sanghy lze datovat do poloviny 20. století. Po druhé světové válce se v rámci tzv. první obnovy náboženství objevilo úsilí zachránit z represáliemi sužovaného tibetského buddhismu alespoň základní věci. Ve třicátých letech byly kláštery pobořeny, některé zcela zničeny, mniši vyhnáni, někteří popraveni, část z duchovenstva byla zavřená do gulagu a zbytek se musel vzdát mnišského stavu. V polovině šedesátých let, v období prvních kritik Stalinova kultu vznikla v Ulan-Ude malá, ale významná skupina, buddhistická komunita. Neoficiální, tajná mikro-sangha se formovala pod vedením B. B. Dandarona, burjatského buddhisty a buddhologa a existovala až do jeho uvěznění v roce 1972. Byl odsouzen na pět let nucených prací a ve věku šedesáti let v roce 1947 v pracovním táboře umírá. Jeden z jeho nejpřednějších žáků A. I. Železnov namaloval thangku, věnovanou svému učiteli; jednalo se o mandalu Vadžrabhajravy. Namaloval ji jako inovaci starobylé tradice a thangka tak představuje unikátní zobrazení v rámci burjatské buddhistické tradice, neboť začleňuje i prvky z vnějšího světa. Je až překvapivé jak mnoho lze z thangky vyčíst s využitím religionistického přístupu. Tato metodologie se odlišuje od způsobu, jak obrazu rozumí sami vyznavači rodícího se Dandaronova kultu.
