Života v totalitě se dotýká i Stoppardova hra Rock'n'Roll z roku 2006, jejíž česká adaptace měla premiéru v Národním divadle 22. února 2007. Autor se v ní vrací do doby české historie v letech 1968 - 1990, kdy "bigbít" nebyl obyčejnou zábavou, ale stal se bránou ke svobodnému životu, k "životu v pravdě", a kdy se proces s lidmi kolem skupiny Plastic People of the Universe stal nakonec impulsem ke vzniku Charty 77. Paralelně se odvíjí příběh tří generací rodiny anglického marxistického filosofa. A nebyl by to Stoppard, kdyby se osudy jednotlivých postav nějakým způsobem neprotnuly.
