Audiokniha: Z komentáře Vladimíra Justla k původnímu LP albu 1118 4193 "Josef Šimon Pouštní pták (na útesech rocků)" vydaného v roce 1987 v Supraphonu a nyní vycházejícímu poprvé digitálně: Řekneme-li básníci jazzové inspirace, vybaví se nám celá plejáda jmen autorů několika generací různých národů, nejčastěji američtí a angličtí beatníci, sovětští básníci z generace Vozněsenského, z našich především "bluesový" Josef Kainar a "ragtimový" Václav Hrabě. Básníci rockové inspirace není ještě zavedený pojem, a přece už je u nás autor, jemuž toto označení (nebudeme-li je považovat za vyčerpávající) patří plným právem. Je to JOSEF ŠIMON (nar. 1948), který vydal dosud pět sbírek básní: Snídaně v automatu (1976), Asfaltoví holubi (1978), Český den (1979), Pouštní pták (1981), "Ať člověk". Melancholická kytara (1982). Šestá knížka s názvem Vyvolávač by měla vyjít ve stejné době jako tato gramofonová deska...Stejně "totálně" jako svět a ženu chápe Šimon i umění. Je mu celistvým postojem ke skutečnosti, jeho zdrojem je rozum i cit. Stejně tak slovo: je mu nejen slovem psaným, mluveným či zpívaným, ale především prostředkem tvorby. Šimon je alergický na slova "skleníková", touží po ztotožnění, po osobní výpovědi. Proto ho láká hovořit své verše a docela je i zpívat. Je v tom i odmítání cizích mystifikací ...
