V roce 2004 se dostal do českého reprezentačního týmu v letecké akrobacii. V roce 2010 se Martin Šonka stal prvním českým pilotem v prestižní sérii Red Bull Air Race, v roce 2018 se stal celkovým vítězem elitní série. Kromě mnoha dalších vavřínů se může pyšnit třemi tituly mistra Evropy a dvěma tituly vicemistra světa ve freestylu, titulem vice-mistra Evropy v klasické akrobacii. MAREK HOLÝ (1979) je český divadelní a filmový herec a dabér. Vystudoval brněnskou konzervatoř. Před studiem JAMU dal přednost angažmá v Národním divadle moravskoslezském v Ostravě. Jeho cesta pokračovala do Prahy, kde působil několik let v Divadle Na Fidlovačce. Od roku 2013 je členem hereckého souboru Divadla na Vinohradech. Svazek je sestaven z dialogů a scén s výjevy z rodinného života Welsových, v mnoha ohledech dodnes typických, v jiných naopak nepředstavitelných. Autorem ilustrací je výtvarně nadaný mladší ze sourozenců Martin (1925-1944). V knize se střídá čeština s němčinou, tento stav odráží tehdejší jazykovou situaci v Praze. Dále se objevuje angličtina a francouzština. Všechny texty jsou přeloženy a grafické řešení umožňuje, že je kniha jazykově přístupná nejen českému čtenáři, ale i jinojazyčným mluvčím. Název Sancta Familia (Svatá rodina) vyjadřuje zkratkou rodinné vztahy: "Když mají dobrou náladu, mají se moc rádi, a někdy se hádají tak, že by se roztrhli. O Rudolfových předcích, chudých maloobchodních z Rokycanska, se můžeme dočíst v pamětech U "Bernatů",které napsal jeho otec Šimon Wels v roce 1919. Tomášovi je osmnáct, Martin je o pět let mladší. Výtvarné nadání zdědil Martin asi po otcovi. V době vzniku knihy byl Rudolf Wels již velmi úspěšným architektem, autorem řady zajímavých a originálních projektů. Události se ale odvíjely jinak, než jak si bratři přáli: Tomášovi se podařilo odejít včas. V dubnu 1939, krátce po březnové okupaci, utekl přes Polsko do Velké Británie, kde za války sloužil v britské armádě. Martinovi a jeho rodičům Idě a Rudolfovi byla žádost o vízum do Spojených států odložena. Byli zavražděni v Osvětimi 8. března 1944. Tomáš se vrátil do Prahy hned po válce, ale nikoho tu už neměl. To, co se z rodinného archivu zachovalo, vzal s sebou zpátky do Anglie. Později měl svou rodinu, o minulosti ale nikdy nemluvil a nikdy neotevřel krabici, ve které se zachovala i kniha Sancta Familia.

Roku 2006 získal Cenu Františka Filipovského. Jitka Ježková (*1978): vystudovala Pražskou konzervatoř a katedru teorie kultury na Filozofické fakultě Univerzity Karlovy. Na televizní obrazovce se objevila poprvé v roce 1994 v seriálu Prima sezóna, o rok později pak v seriálu TV Nova Nováci. Od té doby pravidelně účinkuje v televizních inscenacích, seriálech a filmech. Hostovala v Činoherním klubu, v Divadle Palace a v Divadle v Řeznické. Už od 14 let se úspěšně věnuje dabingu. V roce 2004 dostala Cenu Františka Filipovského za ženský herecký výkon v dabingu za film Teorie létání. Mimo to ale Jitka Ježková namluvila desítky dalších postav v nejrůznějších filmech a seriálech.
