Během příprav alba se rozhodla zpěvačka Klára Nemravová po sedmi letech ukončit do té doby hostování s Tata Bojs. O jednoho „neustálého hosta“ tak sice skupina přišla, ale zároveň se sestava rozšířila nově o klávesistu Jiřího Hradila. Ten drobně hostoval již na Nanoalbu a jeho následném koncertním provedení v rámci Nanotour, ale teprve na Kluci kde ste? se podílel už od samého začátku i jako spoluautor nového repertoáru. Písničky na Kluci kde ste?, na rozdíl o předchozího Nanoalba, nerámuje žádný příběh ani jiný koncept. Kapela si od toho všeho ráda odpočinula a natočila z jejich pohledu album co nejvíce pestré. Nicméně při zpětném pohledu se pár slučujících témat přeci jen najde, jen vyplynula spíše náhodou a přirozeně.
