Tématu samotného lesa se ovšem nevyhýbá a upozorňuje na zapomenutý fakt, že králem evropských lesů není smrk, ale buk, a že vztah ochranářsky založeného lesníka nemusí být nutně v souladu s názory státních úředníků a myslivců a lovců. Nejde o zelenou agitku, ale o ucelené, životem a praxí ověřené názory rozumného člověka, který pro les žije. A nám z města nezbývá než mu i trochu závidět. Obě knihy krásně načetl Aleš Procházka. Autor opakovaně kritizuje konvenční způsoby hospodaření, které způsobují velké škody, a proto musí být nahrazeny jinými metodami. Tématu samotného lesa se ovšem nevyhýbá a upozorňuje na zapomenutý fakt, že králem evropských lesů není smrk, ale buk, a že vztah ochranářsky založeného lesníka nemusí být nutně v souladu s názory státních úředníků a myslivců a lovců. Autor opakovaně kritizuje konvenční způsoby hospodaření, které způsobují velké škody, a proto musí být nahrazeny jinými metodami. Argumenty, které Wohlleben přináší, jsou důsledně promyšlené a naprosto přesvědčivé. Nemusíte být odborníkem, abyste si uvědomili, že Wohlleben má pravdu. Stačí procházka lesem s otevřenýma očima.
