Každodenní zprávy nám předkládají důsledky takového chování, ale příčiny nám unikají." Na straně "progresivistů" vystupují globální americké firmy, zejména Google, Amazon, Twitter a Facebook, jež získaly moc "určovat lidem, co mají znát, o čem přemýšlet a mluvit”. Autor popisuje paradoxy a protimluvy tohoto šílenství, které se snaží potlačit normální zdravý rozum (např. výrokem, že ženy a muži jsou stejní). Murray rozebírá matoucí ideologii a její novořeč: "komunita LBGTQ", "bělošské privilegium", "toxické mužství" nebo "transfobie" a nabízí možnost, jak se nenechat ovládnout takzvanou "politickou korektností”, jež je naprosto scestná. Autor ukazuje, že pro záchranu západní civilizace rozumu a svobody je životně důležité, abychom uměli rozlišit, co je na emancipaci žen, homosexuálů a rasových menšin správné - a kdy už jednoznačně jsme na cestě k šílenství.

V útoku na západní civilizaci zneužívá americký komplex z otrokářství ("Na černošských životech záleží!”) a obviněním z rasismu útočí na liberální politickou tradici, západní filosofii, literaturu, umění a dokonce i exaktní vědy jako na pozůstatky rasistické imperialistické politiky "bílých mrtvých mužů”, kterou je nutno od základu vyvrátit a vybudovat novou, spravedlivou, multikulturní a beztřídní společnost. Murray dramaticky líčí, jak ideologie anti-rasismu pronikla do myšlení západní elity, jak ovlivňuje chod škol a institucí, pracovní zákony i veřejnou debatu. Padají sochy zakladatelů americké svobody a hrdinů občanské války. Absurdní obvinění bílé rasy z vrozeného nevyléčitelného rasismu ohrožuje legitimitu a soudržnost multietnického národa. Murray volá do boje: nedejme se zastrašit a pádně odpovězme na pomlouvání civilizace, jež dala světu katedrály a univerzity, úžasné umění, vědu, techniku a také lékařství a vyprostila z bídy dvě miliardy lidí! Pouze na Západě byla umožněna politická a individuální svoboda. V zájmu jejího udržení je třeba se vzepřít jejím totalitním likvidátorům - je třeba je porazit.
