A tak jí maminky brzy začnou volat, aby se poradily, jak léčit dětské nemoci jako hubatida, lakomice, ještěchvilkína nebo čurbesajda. Paní Láryfáry ale nerozdává kouzelné pilulky, kdepak. Zná spoustu chytrých rad a legračních návodů, díky kterým se děti vyléčí samy a rády. Betty MacDonaldová (1908–1958) Betty MacDonaldová se narodila do početné a svérázné rodiny, která se často stěhovala. Ve dvaceti letech se Betty vdala a odešla na odlehlou slepičí farmu. Tuto svou „drůbeží“ etapu pak zachytila v knize Vejce a já, románové prvotině, která jí zajistila okamžitý úspěch. Po vypuknutí Velké hospodářské krize se Betty s dvěma dcerami vrátila za rodinou do Seattlu. Zde pak MacDonaldovi vedli sice nesnadný, zato příhodami nabitý život, který Betty později popsala v memoárech Co život dal a vzal. Knihy Betty MacDonaldové si získaly srdce milionů čtenářů díky jejímu neutuchajícímu optimismu a osobitému humoru. Dana Syslová (1950) Dětství strávila Dana Syslová na venkově u prarodičů, matčina profese knihovnice ji přivedla k zálibě ve čtení a v době dospívání zcela propadla divadlu. Vystudovala herectví na DAMU a ještě před dokončením studií získala angažmá v Městských divadlech pražských, kde strávila třicet let (1964–1994). Objevila se v desítkách filmových a televizních rolí a věnuje se také dabingu, za který získala Cenu Františka Filipovského. Její hlas je spojený zejména s herečkou Helen Mirren, ale propůjčila jej také Dianě Keaton, Vanesse Redgrave, Susan Sarandon a řadě dalších.
