Je si totiž jistý tím, že ho sleduje někdo, kdo ho má v úmyslu zabít. Jakkoli absurdně to zní, podivná naléhavost v hlase volajícího přiměje Maigreta vzít situaci vážně. Vydává se po stopách telefonátů a zapojído pátrání celé své oddělení, přesto však nedokáže vraždě zabránit. Brzy zjistí, že tato smrt souvisí s jinými násilnými činy ve městě, kterých se dopouští organizovaná skupina. Mohlo by jít o imigranty? Možná jsou dokonce z Československa... Georges Simenon (1903–1989) Napsal více než 200 románů a 150 povídek a díky postavě komisaře Maigreta se stal jedním z nejznámějších frankofonních spisovatelů. Psaním se živil už od šestnácti let, kdy pracoval jako novinář ve svém rodném městě v Belgii. První knihu, humoristický románek, napsal ve svých osmnácti letech, poté se odstěhoval do Paříže, kde mu pak 10 let vycházely pod různými pseudonymy sešitové psychologické romány. První detektivku napsal pod svým skutečným jménem v roce 1930 – už v ní se objevuje postava rozšafného a zdvořilého, převážně nabručeného Pařížana, komisaře Maigreta. Poslední případ Maigret vyřešil v roce 1972. Simenonovy romány byly přeloženy do mnoha jazyků a desítky z nich byly zfilmovány. Jan Vlasák (* 1943) Narodil se v Čáslavi, vystudoval brněnskou JAMU a následně se stal členem souboru divadla v Uherském Hradišti. Prošel mnoha scénami (Divadlo Petra Bezruče, Státní divadlo, Divadlo E. F. Buriana, Státní divadlo v Brně, Realistické divadlo, Rokoko i Národní divadlo), v současné době je členem souboru Městských divadel pražských. Účinkoval v řadě televizních inscenací a seriálů (Tři králové, PF 77, Hodina tance a lásky, Ordinace v růžové zahradě, Cesty domů, Cukrárna, Cirkus Bukowski, První republika) a filmů (Výchova dívek v Čechách, Milenci a vrazi, Vratné lahve, Bathory).

Audiokniha: Vědma si smrt nevyvěštila. I podezřelí jsou na zabití, ale kampak s tím na Maigreta! Policie nezabránila ohlášené vraždě věštkyně, před níž ji varoval vzkaz s podpisem „Picpus“. Kdo by taky ohlídal 482 jasnovidek na území Paříže! Ani ubohá slečna Jeanna svůj osud z koule nevyčetla, a tak horkého srpnového podvečera podlehla bodným ranám. Přitom jen pár metrů od mrtvoly – v zamčené kuchyni jejího bytu – dál sedí zmatený stařík. Vysloužilý lékař Le Cloaguen, očividně už senilní, není Maigretovi schopen vysvětlit, co na místě činu pohledává. A nadělení je i podezřelý číslo dvě: zakřiknutý karbaník a defraudant Mascouvin, jenž se při zatýkání pokusil utopit v Seině. Kdo z těch podivínů vraždil a proč? Kapitální motanice, ovšem s podporou dýmky a piva komisař indicie seřadí a přijde věci na kloub. A nemusí ani příliš hloubat nad otázkou: Kdo je Picpus? Jedna z nejžádanějších maigretovek vyšla časopisecky na přelomu let 1941/42 a poprvé byla zfilmována ještě rok před knižním vydáním (1944). V její páté adaptaci (2003) exceluje Bruno Cremer. „Případ ve věru svižném tempu.
