Lenže kartáni – tak sa tí žltí mimozemšťania volajú – zatiaľ výrazne vyhrávali. Nielenže celý upírsky rod takmer vymazali z povrchu zemského, ale navyše získali Sangotinu technológiu, pomocou ktorej začali svojich ľudských služobníkov vylepšovať na upírov. Išlo o špeciálne jednotky zradcovskej armády Vesmírneho námorníctva. Hovorili si Légie nesmrteľných. Po dlhom a vyčerpávajúcom boji nám dochádzali sily. Prišli sme o Petru, ktorej sa v hlave vďaka implantátom usídlila Sangotina myseľ a prinútila ju odletieť v ukradnutej kartánskej lodi do vesmíru. Lucia zostala v Brazílii s bandou upírskych transvestitov a ja som namiesto očakávaných spojencov narazil na zvláštnu partiu nerdov, ktorí sa ukrývali v druhoradom nočnom klube. Objavil som tam však aj starého známeho. Známeho, o ktorom som sa domnieval, že je už dávno mŕtvy. Problém spočíval v tom, že to už nebol on. Nepamätal si ma.
