Česky vyšel román Robinson Crusoe poprvé v roce 1797, od té doby více než stokrát. Nejúspěšnější bylo a dosud je převyprávění pro děti z pera Josefa Věromíra Plevy (poprvé bylo vydáno v roce 1956).
