Seven papers on the theme one bring the understanding of the relationship between the gender, dance and its meaning in connection with the issues of identity, socialization, teaching process, femininity and masculinity etc. Fifteen contributions and three panels are related to the theme two. The phenomenon of contemporizing traditional dance is explored from the perspective of identity, tasks of safeguarding the heritage and preservation, various social contexts, relations between the traditional dance and theatre, authenticity, politics, aesthetic and cultural values, commodification.
