Hercovo nitro zůstalo po celý život neodhaleno. Libíčkovo umění je naštěstí zachováno dodnes a může nás čas od času těšit. A přesto lze jen poněkud smutně konstatovat, že dramatičtí umělci tohoto typu nejsou už dnes jaksi k mání. Za bodrého rodáka z Valašska není náhrada. Je to holá pravda. Proto nezbývá než poděkovat Pánu Bohu za to, že tu Jan Libíček byl a stále je.

Uprostřed bouřlivého jara roku 1969 pak ohromili publikum Činoherního klubu celovečerním pořadem S úsměvem idiota. Dějiny českého textappealu jsou současně i dějinami řady nepochopení, malých i velkých zákazů a následných průšvihů. A to, že si Jan Vodňanský dopisoval s "Američanem" Georgem Voskovcem, mu u některých úřadů rovněž neprospělo.
