Tématem tohoto čísla Kontradikcí je ekosocialismus v postkomunistických zemích. Změna klimatu pro lidstvo představuje existenční výzvu. Potřeba něco dělat je všeobecně uznávaná, ale akumulace kapitálu neúprosně pokračuje a dokonce mění krize v nové příležitosti k těžbě a zhodnocování. Volba mezi revoluční transformací a společenskou zkázou nebyla nikdy tak výrazná. Tato ekologická krize nás nutí přehodnotit socialistické dědictví ve vztahu k přírodě, včetně nejednoznačného postoje k přírodě ve východoevropském marxismu. Tento postoj, ačkoli se vyznačoval vírou v primát výrobních sil a prométheovskou myšlenkou dobývání přírody, zahrnoval i některé hlasy nesouhlasu a návrhy alternativních cest k socialistické budoucnosti.
