Introduction and Dance exploits the alto saxophone s characteristic soundand virtuosity. It starts with a slow, nascent music, which gives way to avery fast dance with aksak rhythm in an asymmetrically segmented 8/16 meter. The work was commissioned by and is dedicated to saxophonist Levente Puskásand pianist Judit Váradi, who premiered it in September 2020 in the HungarianRadio, and then first performed in concert in November that year.MártonKerékfy (b. 1981) studied musicology and composition at the Liszt Academy ofMusic in Budapest (2000-2007) and received his PhD in musicology (2015) fromthe same institution. In 2006 he spent one semester on an Erasmus Grant at theMozarteum in Salzburg. Márton is Senior Research Fellow at the Budapest BartókArchives, Editor of the Béla Bartók Complete Critical Edition, andEditor-in-Chief at Editio Musica Budapest Zenemukiadó.

Texty jsou doplněny fotografiemi. The Proceedings include contributions from the 26th Symposium of the ICTM Study group on Ethnochoreology. These texts deal with two themes: 1. Dance, Gender, and Meaning, 2. Contemporizing Traditional Dance. They bring various points of view, examples and conceptual frames for understanding dance in connection with these two topics. The authors are researchers from all around the world, looking at dance from many perspectives, but with the common theoretical background, formed by the ethnochoreology, ethnology and dance anthropology. Seven papers on the theme one bring the understanding of the relationship between the gender, dance and its meaning in connection with the issues of identity, socialization, teaching process, femininity and masculinity etc. Fifteen contributions and three panels are related to the theme two. The phenomenon of contemporizing traditional dance is explored from the perspective of identity, tasks of safeguarding the heritage and preservation, various social contexts, relations between the traditional dance and theatre, authenticity, politics, aesthetic and cultural values, commodification. The texts are accompanied by photos.
