Základem je PLA polymer obohacený o uhlíkové nanotrubice (CNT), které výrazně snižují povrchový odpor, a díky tomu je filament vhodný pro výrobu dílů, jež potřebují základní schopnost vedení elektrického proudu. Navzdory své funkční vodivosti si filament zachovává všechny hlavní výhody běžného PLA – snadnou tisknutelnost, nízké smrštění a nepotřebu vyhřívané komory. Díky tomu je Spectrum PLA Electrically Conductive ideální pro prototypování, vzdělávací prostředí i technické dílny, kde je důležitá kombinace funkčnosti a jednoduchého, bezproblémového tisku. Hotové výtisky mají navíc matný povrch, který zlepšuje estetiku výsledku a pomáhá skrývat viditelné vrstvy. Vzhledem k obsahu uhlíkových nanotrubic je filament mírně abrazivní, proto doporučujeme použití kalené nebo rubínové trysky. Vyšší teplota totiž podporuje lepší disperzi uhlíkových nanotrubic v materiálu, což vede ke snížení objemové rezistivity. Pro uživatele to znamená, že při tisku dílů, kde je vodivost prioritou, je vhodné volit vyšší teploty extruze (až do 230 °C) – samozřejmě v rámci možností konkrétní tiskárny.
