Manfred Lütz je psychiatr a psychoterapeut, který pracuje jako primář Alexiánské nemocnice v Kolíně nad Rýnem. Vystudoval rovněž teologii. Absolvoval výcviky v několika psychoterapeutických směrech. Je také vyhledávaným řečníkem. V Německu mu vyšlo několik úspěšných knih a v roce 2008 dostal mezinárodní knižní cenu Corine. Kniha Kdo je tu vlastně blázen byla přeložena do řady jazyků.
