Žádný čtenář, ať už malý nebo velký, nemůže nebýt okouzlen vynalézavostí a "autentičností" Tolkienových Dopisů od Otce Vánoc, které psal autor svým dětem od roku 1920, kdy byly jeho prvorozenému synkovi Johnovi právě tři roky, do roku 1943, kdy bylo jeho nejmladšímu dítěti, dceři Priscille, čtrnáct let.

Pro vydání v Argu už byla k dispozici nová edice, přinášející faksimile a přepisy víceméně všech dopisů a ilustrací. Toto půvabné dílko se tak poprvé dostává k českým čtenářům v úplnosti.
