While universal principles applied, the book presents eleven comprehensive national reports from Europe, North and South America, and Africa. These reports are structured to facilitate a nuanced comparison of individual strategies as well as overarching systematic differences. In addition to the national perspectives, the book includes a dedicated theoretical chapter analysing the legal-ethic foundations and limits of crisis patient prioritisation. S ohledem na nevyjasněnost předmětných otázek v platném právu i teorii autor téma zasazuje i do širšího kontextu právně politických úvah. Ptá se, jak nejlépe by mohl přístup k odpovědnosti za provádění nových lékařských metod naplňovat smysl a účel deliktní odpovědnosti, jak by mohl reflektovat potřebu zachování a rozvoje důvěry pacientů v poskytovatele zdravotních služeb a ve vědu a jaká by měla být role judikatury při stanovování odpovědnostního režimu ve vztahu k (ne)činnosti zákonodárce. Na základě nastíněných úvah je pak navržen odpovědnostní rámec pro jednotlivé výše naznačené situace.
